Co-win app and vaccination in India


 As soon as new year has begun India is stepping very fast to win the race against corona. Indian government has planned  the vaccination of 30 crores people in six to eight months which will begin with health and front line workers.

To analyse the actual status of vaccination ,from Saturday only Dry run of vaccine has started in all the states.

To track the actual status of vaccination, data and other related things, government has launched CO-WIN APP. People who are not health workers they have to register themselves for vaccination through this app.

One can download it from Google Play Store or Apple play store. This is  a self-register app.


Health ministry of India has informed that vaccination will be done in three phase.

First phase: Health workers 

second phase: Front line workers

Third phase: people who are suffering from fatal or serious disease.

State governments have already started Collecting the datas of all workers whether they are private or government for vaccination.

For general people, they will have to do the self-registration process through CO-WIN APP by uploading their photo identity cards.

Following photo identity cards will be valid for the registration:

1.Adhaar card

2.voter id card

3. Driving Licence

4. MANREGA Card

5. Passport

6.Pension document with photograph

7. Officials Id cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs

8.smart card issued by the RGI under NPR

9. Passbook with photograph issued by Bank/Post office

10. Health insurance Smart card issued under the scheme of Labour

11. Service Id cards with photograph issued to employees by central/State/SSUS/Public limited companies.


Registration for vaccination will be online only so that it can be trend easily. All the datas of registration will be stored in the app. Datas like how many doses you have been given etc. You will get SMS alert after the completion of two doses of vaccine.

Government will make schedule of vaccination on the basis of your need and availability. Through sms you will be notified when and where you will be vaccinated. You have to reach  with the same photo id card which you will use at the time of registration at vaccination center as per your schedule. 

Without Id card you won't be allowed for vaccination. According to the government photo Id is mandatory to ensure that vaccine is being given to right person.

Co-win app has five modules:

1. Administrative Module

2. Registration Module

3. Vaccination Module

4. Beneficiaries approval Module

5. Report Module

As per the report it will take 30 minutes to vaccinate one person. In each session hundred people will be included.

The previous announcement was made by Mr. Pokhriyal that there is no exams in the months of January and February either due to pandemic covid-19. But there is a very chance that boards exams can be held in the months of last March or April 2021. Especially for students it would be beneficial if tomorrow date is finalized. If it is so then students will pluck up their courage for their board exams as lakhs of lives are at stake.
